Fitness: Nutrition: Avoballs (Keto Friendly)

Heya sunbeams and welcome back to my blog!

If you follow me on Instagram you already know that hunger and quality food are some of my driving forces in a day, so I felt inspired to be little creative and try a different way to enjoy avocado while hitting my macros on a particular day.

Furthermore, as a student, my budget is minimal and usually I am trying to use efficiently anything left in my drawer at the end of the week so here i went for the basic experiment:

Making avocado balls as snack/lunch.

On the plus side: Delicious AF, Very easy and fast to have them on the go or even meal prep them.
Downside: It got a little messy during preparation, won't survive for more than 2 days since ripe avocado dies super fast

So basically, i tried a very minimal version: 1/2 ripe avocado, 1 canned tuna, sesame seeds and black pepper.

Preparation:

Smash the avocado with a fork, dont go toooo crazy because you want it to still keep some structure and not be guacamole-level.

DRAIN the canned tuna. Super important step. Don't just throw away the excess water, go really into in, squeeze it and make it as dry as possible.

Mix avocado, tuna, black pepper and sesame seeds in a bowl and use a spoon and your hands to form the balls.
If you have done a good job, everything will stick together.

ALTERNATIVES/RECOMMENDATIONS:

You can use any seasoning you like and enhance the mixture base with some shredded cheese or flakes of your preferable taste, just make sure that any ingredient you add will not be too watery or oily. My basic version above is also Keto friendly and gluten free so depending on your own diet, feel free to make adjustments.

I am also planning to try this with drained sundried tomato, cheese and maybe mushroom flakes. I suppose it could also work with rice/couscous/quinoa as well but I am not a very frequent consumer of them so don't know if i would give it a hit.

Also, i already plan to try sweet avo-bites and I will follow up on it soon.

That's it, easy peasy and fast today. I hope you guys found this recipe interesting.
Feel free to let your creative side out and experiment with it.
If you give it a go, feel free to send me your versions and recommendations on social media through the contact info at the bottom of this page.
Till next update, keep thriving and shine on ;)

Love,
Irinä
